Star Catcher | The Star Catcher Network

Star Catcher Network

Power budgets are a thing of the past.

The Star Catcher Network wirelessly transmits concentrated solar energy directly to client satellites' existing solar arrays, enabling up to 10x more power generation than onboard systems alone –– no retrofit required.

How it works

The Star Catcher Network comprises Power Nodes that collect, concentrate, refine, and distribute energy to client satellites anywhere in Low Earth Orbit and beyond.

Energy Source

The Sun is a near-limitless fusion reactor whose light, though abundant, arrives scattered and low-powered.

Collection & Concentration

Star Catcher Power Nodes collect diffuse sunlight with lightweight, low-cost Fresnel lenses to direct and concentrate it.

Refinement

The light is then refined into wavelengths tuned for maximum transmission and conversion efficiency on existing satellite solar panels.

Tracking & Distribution

Precision tracking systems control adaptive mirrors capable of beaming energy to 50 satellites at once, ensuring every photon reaches its intended destination.

Delivery & Use

With no retrofit required, satellites can generate up to 10x more power on demand, enabling more uptime, supercharged missions, and next-gen capabilities.

The build is well underway.

A space power grid is critical infrastructure that the industry needed yesterday. Our development is rapid and parallelized in order to bring this capability to market by the end of the decade.

October 2025

Record-Breaking Optical Power Transmission

We transmitted more than 1.1 kW of electrical power to commercial off-the-shelf solar panels, surpassing the previous record set by DARPA and proving the technology’s readiness for space operations.

First Public System Demo

We proved our end-to-end technology stack by collecting, concentrating, and transmitting solar energy to commercial off-the-shelf solar panels.

And yes, we did it at a NFL football stadium because nothing we do is status quo.
